Announcing the 2012 Centre County Reads selection: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This award-winning book has captured the hearts and imaginations of people around the world. We hope you'll read it and discuss it with your Centre County neighbors. Centre County Reads has many exciting events planned for this year including an Indoor Sports Day at the YMCA, a Grim Reaper Writing Contest, and a Skype appearance by author Markus Zusak! Book Discussion Group Kits

If you are a member of a book club or have always wanted to start your own book club, we can help! Schlow Library offers Book Discussion Group Kits that you may use with your group.

Each book club bag holds 6 copies of the same title, information on how to start a book club, as well as questions to get discussions going.

Announcing the 2011 Centre County Reads Book! Jeannette Walls, author of The Glass Castle, wrote this "true-life" novel based on the life of her spunky and resourceful grandmother, Lily Casey Smith.
